Carterville woman, three Bolivar residents seriously injured as SUV goes airborne, crashes, catches fire

Four people were injured in a one-vehicle accident 10 p.m. Thursday on East 455th Road, one mile east of Bolivar.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2012 Chevrolet SUV driven by Chelsey Richardson, 28, Bolivar, traveled off the right side of the roadway, became airborne, struck an embankment and overturned.







The SUV came to rest in a creek and caught fire.

Richardson was airlifted to Cox South Hospital, Springfield, to be treated for serious injuries.

Three passengers, Haylee R. Wright, 19, and Shelby L. Richardson, 23, both of Bolivar, and Sarah E. Welch, 22, Carterville, were treated for serious injuries at Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
