Seneca Police Department Arrests

On 5/31/21, Officer Kirby made a traffic stop at Cherokee/Washington for an equipment violation. The driver was arrested for: Possession and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and transported to Newton County Jail.

On 5/31/21, Officer Zimmerman made a traffic stop at Hwy 60/Antelope on a suspicious vehicle. The driver was arrested for: Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. A passenger was arrested and cited for: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both subjects were transported to Newton County Jail.

On 5/31/21, Officer Housley made a traffic stop at Washington/Billings for an equipment violation. The driver was arrested for: DWR, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Felony Possession of Controlled Substance. The driver was then transported to Newton County Jail.

On 5/29/21, Officer Whitehead made a traffic stop at Bear/Cemetery for an equipment violation. The driver was arrested and cited for: DWR, Fail to Register Motor Vehicle, No Insurance, Possession and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and transported to Newton County Jail.

On 5/28/21, Officer Housley made a traffic stop at Hwy 60/Antelope for an equipment violation. The driver, Ciji Parsons was arrested on a FTA warrant out of Anderson for: Non-Moving Traffic Violation. A passenger was arrested for: Possession and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

Another passenger, Thomas Butterworth was arrested on 4 Seneca FTA warrants for: Obstructing Police, Expired Plates, Defective Equipment and No Insurance. The last passenger was arrested for: Possession and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. All four suspects were transported to Newton County Jail.

On 5/27/21, Officer Whitehead initiated a traffic stop at Cherokee/Delaware but the vehicle rapidly accelerated and fled North on Cherokee. Multiple items were being thrown out the window during the pursuit and the vehicle was stolen. 

The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle ran off the road. Both suspects were arrested after being cleared from the hospital. The driver was arrested for: Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 1st and Felony Resisting Arrest by Fleeing. 

The driver was also cited for multiple traffic offenses during the pursuit. The passenger was arrested for: Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 2nd and Possession of a Weapon. Both suspects were transported to Newton County Jail.

On 5/26/21, Officer Zimmerman made a traffic stop at Quarry Rd for an equipment violation. A passenger, Dominic Downum had a Joplin warrant for: Petit Theft. Downum was arrested on the warrant and transported to Newton County Jail.
