"Newsmakers" to highlight Show Me Gold, Parks and Rec Department

Two upcoming programs on KGCS-TV will highlight the Show Me Gold program offered at Missouri Southern State University and the city of Joplin’s Parks and Recreation Department.
“Newsmakers” will focus on the Missouri National Guard’s Show Me Gold – an officer training program at Missouri Southern. Guests include Staff Sergeant Joseph Dixon, a recruiter for Show Me Gold, and officer candidates Joshua Turner and Mitchell Woolridge. They explain how the program prepares students for positions of leadership with the National Guard.
Airdates for the interview airing on KGCS-TV next week:
Monday, June 9 – 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, June 10 -5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, June 11 – 5:30 p.m.
The program will also air at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, June 14, on KOAM-TV.
The new edition of “Joplin Insider” will feature information on activities offered for people of all ages through the Parks and Recreation Department. Host Lynn Onstot will visit with Activities Director Paul Bloomberg about operations at the city pools and summer camps for children.
Airdates will include:
Monday, June 9 – 6 p.m.
Tuesday, June 10 – 6 p.m.
Wednesday, June 11 – 6:30 p.m.
Monday, June 16 – 9:30 p.m.
Tuesday, June 17 – 6 p.m.
KGCS programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 22 and on regional cable television systems including Cable One, Mediacom and Suddenlink.
