Joplin Parks and Rec to hold flashlight Easter egg hunt

(From Joplin Parks and Recreation Department)

Finding the hidden treasures during an Easter egg hunt provides a lot of fun for youngsters. This year, the Joplin Parks and Recreation Department is offering a unique twist on this traditional event by hosting it in the evening and having children use flashlights in their search.

The Flash Light Easter Egg Hunt is set for Saturday, March 28 at the Hershewe Soccer Complex at the Joplin Athletic Complex, 3310 West 1st Street. Three age groups will participate in different fields, with times staggered ten-minute increments, including:

3 & 4 year olds starting at 8:30 p.m. on Field #2

5 & 6 year olds starting at 8:40 p.m. on Field #3

7 & 8 year olds starting at 8:50 p.m. on Field #4

Children should bring their own flashlight for this hunt that offers 10,000 hidden eggs. Check-in time begins at 7:45 p.m. that day.

Fee for the event is $3 per child, and includes a hotdog, soda and bag of candy. To register, go to joplinparks.org or call 417-625-4750. Registration closes on Friday, March 27.
