Two Kansas women were injured in a two-vehicle accident 8:10 p.m. Thursday on I-44, two miles west of Fidelity.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2007 Hummer H2 driven by Amy N. Debentort, 29, Dallas, Texas, crossed the center line and struck a 2006 Ford Escape driven by Marzette A. Hickerson, 46, Arkansas City, Kansas. After the impact, the Hickerson vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a tree.
Hickerson was treated for moderate injuries and a passenger, Jeanne M. Schermerhorn, 51, Arkansas City, Kansas, for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
