Joplin City Council to recognize outgoing volunteers on boards, commissions

(From City of Joplin)

With more than 25 Boards and Commissions, the City of Joplin appreciates the many citizens who volunteer to serve on these committees. Board members serve various term lengths, and often serve several terms to help review City projects, plans and proposals.

On Monday, November 16, during the Joplin City Council meeting, Council members will recognize those citizens who have completed their terms this past year. Members will receive a recognition plaque and a thank you gift for their service. The honorees and their family are also invited to a reception immediately following the 6 p.m. meeting. The reception will be held in the fifth floor lobby of Joplin City Council with cake and punch being served.

This year, most of the honorees have completed two 3-year terms and two members have completed two 4-year terms (Corliss Berry and Edith Triplett).
