Carthage woman injured in four-vehicle, chain reaction accident

A Carthage woman was injured in a four vehicle accident 11:40 p.m. Sunday three miles north of Southwest City on Highway 43.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2000 Toyota Sienna driven by Merica O. Gomez Vasquez, 29, Carthage, came to a stop in the roadway and was struck in the tear by a 2000 Nissan Altima driven by Aura V. Gonzales Zapeta, 39, Neosho, which was struck in the rear by a 1999 Honda Accord driven by Leoncio P. Vicente Garcia, 37, Neosho, which was struck in the rear by a 2000 Toyota Sienna driven by Cecilio F. Arroyo Perez, 36, Carthage.

A passenger in the Perez vehicle, Cristina Martinez, 29, Carthage, was treated for minor injuries at Freeman Neosho.
