In recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday, the City of Joplin offices will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27. This closing includes the Joplin Recycling Center, MAPS and the Sunshine Lamp Trolley services. The Recycling Center will reopen on Saturday, November 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Sunshine Lamp Trolley will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and MAPS will offer services from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. City Hall and other City services will reopen to the public at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 30.
Public Safety services (Police and Fire Departments) will continue to operate throughout the Thanksgiving holidays, as these departments run 24/7 throughout the year.
In addition, residential trash service for Thursday customers in the City of Joplin will be moved to Friday, and Friday’s customers will have trash service pick-up on Saturday, Nov. 28.
