A "Sell More at the Market" workshop will offered at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, at the Webb City Public Library, 101 South Liberty, Webb City.
This workshop is for growers wanting to sell directly to consumers. Robert Balek, a horticulture specialist with University of Missouri Extension, will lead the workshop.
Two main topics will be covered during the workshop.
First, attendees will learn how to effectively (safely and legally) provide product samples at markets. "We know that sampling at the market can increase sales and customer loyalty but it must be done right to protect you and your customers," said Balek.
Second, a session on "Post Production Handling and Storage" will be presented. "Attendees will learn how to keep produce safe and fresh so top quality fruits and veggies pay off," said Balek.
The workshop is free but reservations are encouraged so enough handouts are available. To register or for more information call, David Hill, Webb City Farmers Market Manager, at 417 499-4831 or email dhill2213@gmail.com
