Reported Crime: Attempted Kidnapping and Enticement of a Child
Date: 6/8/2017
Location: 100 Block of Elk, Carthage MO
On 6/6/2017 at about 1130 AM, it was reported a male subject in a white van attempted to entice a 7-year-old child to his van by offering candy.
Mark Kennedy was contacted at about 6 PM and taken into custody. Charges were submitted to the Jasper County Prosecutors Office.

On 6/6/2017 at about 1130 AM, it was reported a male subject in a white van attempted to entice a 7-year-old child to his van by offering candy.
A friend watching the child stopped the child from going to the van. The incident was reported and Mark Kennedy was developed as a suspect.
Mark Kennedy was contacted at about 6 PM and taken into custody. Charges were submitted to the Jasper County Prosecutors Office.
On 6/7/2017 the Honorable Joseph Hensley set Mark Kennedy’s bond at 1 million dollars cash only.
Mark Kennedy is currently awaiting sentencing on two other separate convictions of Statutory Sodomy of a child less than 14 years old.
