Transportation Commission awards resurfacing contracts for Jasper, Newton counties

Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission Awards Contracts
For Resurfacing Projects in Several Southwest Missouri Counties


Kirksville – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, meeting in Kirksville, has awarded construction contracts, totaling approximately $11.2 million, for 10 resurfacing projects in St. Clair, Polk, Greene, Christian, Jasper and Newton counties, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The approved projects include:
St. Clair County – Resurfacing approximately 22 miles of Missouri Route 13
Prime Contractor: APAC-Central Inc., of Fayetteville, Ark.
Low bid: $3.8 million

Polk County & Greene County – Resurfacing and adding shoulders to approximately 10.5 miles of Polk County Route T and approximately 13 miles of Missouri Route 123 in Greene and Polk counties
Prime Contractor: Blevins Asphalt Construction Co., Inc., of Mount Vernon
Low bid: $2.5 million


Jasper County – Resurfacing and adding shoulders to various sections of routes YY, JJ, P and Z and resurfacing nearly four miles of Missouri Route 66
Prime Contractor Blevins Asphalt Construction Co., Inc., of Mount Vernon
Low bid: $2.3 million


Newton County – Resurfacing and adding shoulders to approximately 13.6 miles of Missouri Route 43
Prime Contractor: Blevins Asphalt Construction Co., Inc., of Mount Vernon.
Low bid: $2.1 million


Christian County – Resurfacing sections of routes AA and JJ
Prime Contractor: Blevins Asphalt Construction Co., Inc., of Mount Vernon
Low bid: $537,000

The work will take place in 2018.
