Woman arrested by JPD hides meth in her buttocks, no crack found

(From the Joplin Police Department)

Incident Spotlight

Sunday morning at 4:30 a.m two of our officers were on the McDonald's parking lot at 7th and Maiden Lane on a car stop.

During the course of the stop, they noticed another vehicle on the parking lot parked haphazardly, not quite in a parking spot. They noticed the driver and passenger were watching them, and when the officers would look at them they would put their heads back down and act like they were sleeping.

When they finished the first car stop, they walked over to them to check on them. Both had suddenly fallen asleep again. After waking up, the officers spotted a bag of meth on the center console. The 30-year-old male driver grabbed the bag of meth and stuffed it between the seat and center console while the officer told him to stop.

The driver and 30-year-old female were both ultimately arrested for felony drug charges, and a loaded syringe with meth was also located in the vehicle. The 30-year-old female passenger was found to have a baggie of meth concealed in her buttocks area at the jail.
