David Phelps' Classic Christmas to be performed at Joplin High School Performing Arts Center

(From Connect2Culture)

Connect2Culture (C2C) will present David Phelps’ Classic Christmas on Sunday, December 17, 7:30pm (doors open at 6:30pm) at Joplin High School’s Performing Arts Center (2104 N Indiana Ave, Joplin, MO 64804). David Phelps’ performance will be the second installment in Connect2Culture’s inaugural performing arts series, Curtains Up.

David Phelps' "Classic Christmas" is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season. His renditions of old hymns and modern holiday hits capture the true spirit of Christmas! "We are excited to bring David Phelps to Joplin for his Classic Christmas show. The Christmas spirit will absolutely come alive in everyone who attends!" – Clifford Wert, President and CFO, Connect2Culture.

Looking back on David Phelps’ legacy, so far, he has come a long way from Tomball, Texas. Over the greater part of the last two decades, David's artistry has grown to echo off the walls of Carnegie Hall, and vibrate the chandeliers in the White House and in countless halls and churches around the world. His masterful melodies have been burned into critically-acclaimed solo offerings, award-winning Gaither Vocal Band CDs and Gold and Platinum Gaither "Homecoming" collections. It has been a showcase far above the expectations of any ordinary artist. But for David, a perpetual work in progress, these happy years have been just an extended glimpse of the Creator's bigger picture. Pushing the boundaries is every artist's goal, and David's focus is beyond the ordinary, trusting in that Divine design.

Unique to his performance in Joplin, nearly 50 Joplin High School students will join David Phelps on stage for a total of four songs. “We are so pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to Joplin High School students. Singing with a professional artist is a great learning experience – one they will not soon forget! Parents have already told us their kids are very excited to sing with David.” – Emily Frankoski, Community Arts Director, Connect2Culture.
