Fire that started in shed, spread to houses at 915 and 917 S. Jefferson ruled accidental

On Monday, 15 July 2019, at 5:42 PM the Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 915 S Jefferson Ave.

The initial report was a shed fire that was spreading to two houses – 915 S Jefferson and 917 S Jefferson. The first fire crew arrived on scene at 5:47 PM. 

Crews extinguished the fire at the shed and then moved to extinguish fires are both structures. Fire crews remained on scene until 9:00 PM.

There were no injuries to firefighting crews or civilians.

The Joplin Fire Department responded with six units and 17 personnel and was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service.

The cause of fire was ruled accidental in nature.
