Joplin High School, MSSU graduate receives new Highway Patrol assignment

Captain John Enderle, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces the following assignment effective August 4, 2019.

Trooper Sam Carpenter will be assigned as a Troop D public information officer. He is one of two public information officers assigned to Troop D which encompasses 18 counties in southwest Missouri. 

Trooper Carpenter will primarily be responsible for the eastern half of Troop D for program and media requests. 








Trooper Carpenter was appointed to the Patrol on October 20, 2002, and after graduating from the Patrol Academy was assigned to Troop D, zone 13, serving Newton and McDonald counties. 

In 2006, Trooper Carpenter transferred to Troop D, zone 11, serving Jasper County. 

Trooper Carpenter is a native of Joplin, Missouri, and graduated from Joplin High School. He attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin and Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri. 

Trooper Carpenter is married and has two children.
