Joplin woman seriously injured in collision with Freightliner, charged with meth possession

A Joplin woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident 12:40 p.m. today on westbound I-44, two miles east of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2014 Freightliner driven by Christian G. Rojas, 23, Los Angeles, California, was traveling westbound with a blown tire trying to make it to the shoulder.

Darin A. Link, 46, Springfield, driving a 2010 Ford Explorer, was unaware the Rojas vehicle was going slow and struck it in the rear.








A passenger in the Link vehicle, Rachel Lasley, 44, Joplin, was taken to Mercy Hospital with serious injuries.

The Highway Patrol arrest report indicates Lasley was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia.
