The next edition of “Newsmakers” on KGCS-TV hits the evening airwaves the week of July 28 at 5:30 p.m., and will focus on the news and activities involving the George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond, MO.
Guests on the program will be Jim Heaney, Park Superintendent - Kim Mailes, Carver Birthplace Association Chairman - and Chalise Cooper with Joplin Emancipation Park Days.
The three will discuss a number of special events – including Carver Day, Prairie Day and Storytelling Days. The program will also provide an update on the restoration efforts of the 1872 Neosho Colored School, which Mr. Carver attended, and information about the upcoming Emancipation Park Days in Joplin.
The show is currently posted on KGCS’s YouTube channel, “KGCS Missouri Southern.”
KGCS programming can be seen on channel 21. It is also available on regional cable television systems such as Cable One, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
