A Seneca bicyclist was struck and kiiled by a semi 9:43 p.m. Monday on northbound I-49, one mile north of Neosho
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2016 Peterbilt TTL driven by Danny H. Heydereich, 61, Huntington, Arkansas, struck a bicycle ridden by David A. VanGorkom, 38, Seneca, in the roadway.
Newton County Deputy Coroner Jerry Deems pronounced VanGorkom dead at the scene.
The fatality was the 51st this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
