Activities announced for annual Carthage Maple Leaf Festival

Official Maple Leaf events have been finalized for this year and include the following:

October 2-December 5 artCentral Carthage brings a free exhibition of beautiful oil paintings, artful gift items from Ina Niday and an auction of official small works with the Small Works/Great Wonders event at Hyde House. 

Saturday, October 10 join your fellow bike riders at 8AM at Kellogg Lake for the Joplin Trails Coalition Maple Leaf 100 Bike Ride. The afternoon of the 10th head on out to Central Park at 3 for the Maple Leaf Queen Pageant and finish your night off with the crowning of the Queen to kick of the “Music Under the Maples” Music and Food Truck Event.

Sunday the 11th you’re in for a full day of fun at Central Park. The Chili Cook-off begins at Noon followed by the Maple Leaf Dog Show at 1, the beloved Dachshund Races at 2:30, and the Chicken Pageant wrapping it all up at 4!








Night of Worship is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14 at Central Park. Should it rain, the venue will be the Faith Life Church, 736 E. Fairview with proceeds supporting the Carthage Ministerial Alliance.

Friday, October 16 from 11-2 grab your Brat on the Square carry-out lunch at the YMCA Square location and enjoy your meal outside around the stunning Historic Courthouse or one of many beautiful Carthage parks. 

Later that night join the Carthage Car Show Cruise Night and Automotive Swap Meet at Kellogg Lake or share a 5K twilight run through our community with Fair Acres Family YMCA.

Saturday, October 17 you won’t want to miss the expanded selection of delicious food and handmade items running around the entire Square and down side streets. The Maple Leaf Car Show and Swap Meet continues at Kellogg Lake on Saturday 8-5 on Saturday as well! 

If antique and vintage tractors are your thing, Race Brothers is hosting the annual tractor show 9-3 at Central Park on Saturday.

The Fair Acres Family YMCA is hosting their annual Charity Ball with a Monster Mash theme on Saturday the 24th at the Gaderian Event Center including a Spooktacular evening of live entertainment, dinner, libations, and a silent auction.
