Anderson PD traffic stop leads to arrest, confiscation of meth, defaced handgun

On September 22, 2020, Officer Hollis initiated a traffic stop on a truck for displaying invalid license plates. 

Upon making contact with the driver, S.T., it was quickly observed to have a handgun within arms reach. For officer safety, Officer Hollis secured the firearm for the duration of the traffic stop and gathered S.T's information. 








It was discovered the handgun's serial number had been filed off the gun. S.T. was placed into custody at this time for driving while revoked and in possession of a defaced weapon. 

Upon searching the vehicle, Officer Hollis also located a sawed-off shotgun, a rifle, approximately 6 grams of methamphetamine and meth paraphernalia. 

S.T. was arrested and charges for Possession of a Defaced Firearm (Class B Misd), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class D Felony), and Possession of an Illegal Weapon (Class D Felony) were filed.
