A Joplin man was killed in one-vehicle accident 9:28 p.m. Wednesday on Route M, two and a half miles east of Granby.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2006 Buick Lacerne driven by Coy L. Walker, 20, Joplin, traveled off the roadway, struck a utility pole and overturned, ejecting Walker.
Newton County Coroner Dale Owens pronounced Walker dead at the scene.
The fatality was the 79th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
