An Anderson man was killed in a car-pedestrian accident 10:21 p.m. Monday on I-49, one mile south of Tipton Ford.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2009 Toyota Corolla driven by Siddharth B. Patel, 23, Pittsburg, Kansas, struck Harold L. Willis, 54, Anderson, who was walking in the roadway.
Willis was pronounced dead at the scene by Newton County Assistant Coroner Jerry Deems.
The fatality was the 86th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
