It has come to our attention that an individual has been calling citizens across the county from a phone number that is recognized as the Neosho Police Department.
The subject will portray himself as a member of our agency and gives instructions to purchase gift cards to avoid the filing of formal charges.
We wish to alert all citizens to this scam. The Neosho Police Department will not ask you to purchase gift cards to pay fines to avoid formal charges.
If you are contacted by this individual, please do not give him any personal or financial information.
