9/6/2022 One subject was arrested in the 100 block of East 12th St on a Felony Parole Violation Warrant, along with 2 Misdemeanor warrants out of Carthage and probable cause on our own cases against him.
9/7/2022 Officer attempted a traffic stop on a bicycle for traffic violations. Suspect attempted to flee and was caught at 15th & Poplar. Suspect admitted to officers to be in possession of meth, which is why he fled. He was transported to the Barton County Jail and placed on a 24 hr hold for Possession of Meth, Resisting arrest/detention stop, possession of paraphernalia.
09/08/2022 Vehicle observed making a turn without using turn signal. Citations were issued for no valid driver’s license, fail to register motor vehicle and given a warning for seatbelt.
09/08/2022 Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of E. 9th St. in reference to a physical domestic in progress. One subject was arrested and placed on a 24 hr hold for Domestic Assault 4th Degree.
09/09/2022 Officers went to the 1200 block of E. 17th St. to serve an arrest warrant. Subject was arrested, he was then transported to the Barton County Jail. Probable Cause paperwork for possession of drug paraphernalia was forwarded to the Barton County Prosecutor’s Office.
09/09/2022 Officer took a report of fraud. Case has been referred to the Detective for further investigation.
09/09/2022 Officers responded to a report of Careless and Imprudent driver leaving Cox Barton County Hospital. The vehicle was located and stopped in the area of 3rd & Gulf. Driver was arrested and transported to the Barton County Jail where she was placed on a 24 hr hold for Driving While Intoxicated.
9/10/2022 Officers were advised of a suspicious box laying in the field next to Lamar Travel Plaza. Officers checked and it was a male subject traveling from Washington State to New York.
9/10/2022 Officers were contacting regarding a male subject knocking on windows in the 1400 block of Truman. Subject was located hiding in a shed; he was arrested on a warrant for Fail to Appear-Possession of controlled substance and transported to the Barton County Jail.
09/11/2022 Officer received a report of vandalism at the Memory Gardens Cemetery and a stop sign at E 20th St. and College. The stop sign was broken off. Flowers had been taken from two to four graves and thrown in the street. Investigation continues.
