The following students are moving on to the state competition after receiving 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place for their projects:
1st place- Junior Group Documentary "Ponies, Paperbacks, and Persistent Women: The Pack Horse Library Project" by 8th graders Reid Stanley & Louisa Curchin
2nd place- Junior Group Documentary "Apollo 11 and the Step That Changed History" by 7th graders Landon Carter, Cooper England, and Grayson Landis
1st place- Junior Group Website "The Stanley Brothers: Frontiers in Automotive History" by 6th graders Hayle Gillen, Colsen Harding, and Jordan Mwangi
2nd place- Junior Group Website "Tanks in WWI: Deadly War Machines" by 7th graders Cooper Boman and Trystan Hartje
1st place- Junior Individual Website "The Match Girls Strike: Fighting Towards a New Frontier" by 8th grader Olivia Obert
2nd place- Junior Individual Website "Rube Foster: The Creation of the Negro National League" by 6th grader Dalton Gray
3rd place- Junior Individual Website "Florence Nightingale: Pioneer of Modern Medicine" by 8th grader Lilia Soderstrom
1st place- Junior Individual Exhibit "Buckling Up Babies: The Innovation of Life-Saving Car Seats" by 8th grader Lydia Crabtree
2nd place- Junior Individual Exhibit "America's Glowing Women: The Radium Girls Tragedy" by 6th grader Skyy McVay
3rd place- Junior Individual Exhibit "Frontiers in Flight: The Innovation of the F4U Corsair" by 6th grader Andrew Crabtree
The state competition will be held at the University of Missouri on April 22. Students who place 1st or 2nd at state will move on to the national competition June in College Park, Maryland.
