(From the Miami Police Department)Investigators from the Oklahoma Judicial District 13 Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force arrested William Melton Goode of Springfield, Missouri, on multiple felony charges related to online child enticement.
The Springfield, MO Police Department assisted with arresting Goode. Goode was extradited and booked into the Ottawa County Jail on January 10, 2023.
The investigation began in September 2022, when Goode used social media to send who he thought was a young girl, images of his body, and discussed having sex with the girl. Goode also requested images of the girl. Goode planned to travel from Springfield, MO to Miami, OK to meet the girl to have sex.
Goode was communicating with an investigator of the task force Child Predator Unit which is based out of the Miami Police Department. He is charged with Lewd or Indecent Proposals/Acts to a Child, Soliciting Sexual Conduct or Communication with a Minor by Use of Tech, and Solicit Minor for Indecent Exposure/Photographs.
The Oklahoma Judicial District 13 Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force is comprised of the following agencies: Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Miami Police Department, Grove Police Department, Colcord Police Department, Quapaw Nation Marshals Service, Eastern Shawnee Tribal Police, Wyandotte Nation Police Department, Miami Nation Tribal Police, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
