Joplin, Sarcoxie residents injured in collision on I-49

 Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident 5:41 a.m. today on I-49 two miles south of Tipton Ford.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2005 Dodge Dakota driven by Wayne M. Goettel, 60, Sarcoxie, struck a 2019 Dodge Ram that was disabled on the highway.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, Tyler A. Johnson, 31, Joplin, was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

Goettel was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Joplin.
