(From George Washington Carver National Monument)George Washington Carver National Monument is pleased to announce the winners of the annual Art and Essay Contest for third and fourth graders. This year’s theme, curiosity, is based on George Washington Carver’s quote: “From a child, I had an inordinate desire for Knowledge, especially music, painting, flowers, and the sciences...”
Students were challenged to write an original essay or create original artwork to express their connection to the theme and to demonstrate their creativity. Nearly 400 entries were submitted.
