According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2022 Honda Civic driven by Dorian T. Francois, 30, Pembroke Pines, Florida, crossed the center line and struck a 2019 Freightliner Conventional cab driven by Michael R. Mason, 45, Picayune, Mississippi.
Jasper County Coroner James Harrison pronounced Francois dead at the scene at 12:29 p.m.
The fatality was the 15th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
