(From the Joplin Health Department)The Ozarks Health Commission (OHC), a coalition of public health entities, hospital partners, and community leaders in the Ozarks region, has come together again to better understand the health status, behaviors, and needs of the region's residents.
Every three years, the OHC convenes to reassess the health of our region and issue the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). This assessment requires input on the health issues and needs of the broader community.
To that end, members of the OHC, including the Joplin Health Department, Jasper County Health Department, and Mercy Hospital Joplin, are asking the public to provide feedback on their local healthcare needs and experiences by completing the survey available now at ozarkshealthcommission.org/survey.
The survey will take approximately 8 to 10 minutes and is available in English and Spanish. Individual personal information will not be shared or connected with your responses.
In addition to input from the survey, the 2025 assessment will combine more than 140 hospital and community data indicators and feedback from stakeholders. The resulting CHNA will allow decision-makers to have a more holistic and up-to-date picture with which to address community health concerns strategically.
The survey is open through May 31, 2024, and all citizens are encouraged to take part in this important tool to help gauge the health needs and conditions of our community.
