Joplin residents injured in 4-vehicle accident on I-49

Two Joplin residents were injured in a four-vehicle accident 3:05 p.m. Monday on I-49 one mile north of Anderson.

According to the Highway Patrol report, as traffic was slowing for a previous crash, four vehicles collided in an unknown sequence.

Vehicles involved in the accident were a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jeffrey B. Lee, 66, Joplin, a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek driven by Michael J. Whelan, 64, Carl Junction, a 2023 Honda CRV driven by Donna M. Tilley, 62, Joplin, and a 2023 GMC Sierra driven by Michael T. Walker, 59, Joplin.

Tielly was treated for moderate injuries and Lee for minor injuries at Mercy Joplin.
