A Joplin man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 7:33 p.m. Wednesday on Blackcat Road two and a half miles northwest of Joplin.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Darrin G. Shockley, 33, Joplin, ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned into a creek. Shockley was ejected.
Jasper County Coroner Scott Keatts pronounced Shockley dead at the scene.
The fatality was the 36th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
