6-year-old Carthage boy killed in accident on Table Rock Lake

A 6-year-old Carthage boy was killed in an accident 11:11 a.m. Friday on Table Rock Lake south of Hollister.

According to the Highway Patrol report, the boy fell off a kneeboard, which was behind a 1999 Maxum open motorboat in Clevenger Cove on Table Rock Lake. As the driver, Bethany Roy, 31, Carthage, attempted to return to the boy, he swam toward the rear of the boat and was caught by the boat's propeller while it was still in reverse.

Taney County Deputy Coroner Elijah Goodwin pronounced the boy dead at the scene.
