Jasper traffic stop leads to meth arrest

On Tuesday, August 12th, 2024 at 1253 hours, a Jasper Police Department officer initiated a traffic stop near Mercer St. & 4th St., Jasper, Mo, on a gray Kia Soul with Arkansas license plates.
 
Contact was made with the driver, Darlene Herrold and advised of the reason for the stop. Herrold was overly excited and advised she is currently facing drug charges in Arkansas.







 
Barton County Sheriff’s Office K9 responded to the scene.
 
A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. The following was found:

*Glass pipe with a white poweder residue. (Located in a blueish zip up bag lying on the front passenger seat)








*Plastic baggy with a small amount of a white poweder substance. (Located in a blueish zip up bag lying on the front passenger seat)

Herrold was taken into custody without incident for meth related charges.
 
Herrold was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
