Seneca woman killed, three Jay residents suffer serious injuries in 4-vehicle accident

A Seneca woman was killed and three Jay, Okahoma residents injured in a four-vehicle accident 7:04 a.m. today on U. S. 60 three and a half miles east of Seneca.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Dodge Nitro driven by Autumn J. Qualls, 42, Seneca, a 2022 Volvo tractor-trailer driven by Mekhriddin Ergashov, 34, Brooklyn, New York, and a 2012 Dodge Ram driven by Jeffrey L. Boles, 60, Seneca, were stopped for a school bus when a 2020 Ram 2500 driven by Donald R. Larmon, 72, Jay, crested a hill and struck the Qualls vehicle in the rear, causing it to travel off the roadway.







The Larmon vehicle then hit the Ergashov and Boles vehicles

Newton County Deputy Coroner J. Deems pronounced Qualls dead at the scene.

A passenger in the Larmon vehicle, Curtis L. Larmon, 76, Jay, was airlifted to Mercy Joplin with serious injuries.

Larmon and another passenger in his vehicle, David L. Quinn, 74, Jay, were treated for serious injuries at Mercy.

The fatality was the 67th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.

  3. My condolences to the family, Curtis Larmon was in surgery all night, with a broken pelvis and they don't know if this will leave him paralyzed.

  4. Such a tragic accident praying for everyone involved including all first responders, police, ambulance & anyone else who had to see this. Very sad situation!
