Willcoxon Innovation in Health Sciences Summitt topic for Newsmakers

The future of healthcare comes into focus at the upcoming Willcoxon Innovation in Health Sciences Summit. Physicians, students and members of the community can participate in the free educational event where national speakers discuss precision healthcare. The summit and details about those presentations are the focus of the next Newsmakers program.

Melinda Brown, Director of the Gipson Center for Healthcare Leadership at Missouri Southern State University, explains the mission behind the summit, while Dr. Crystal Lemmons, Dean of the College of Health Life Sciences, talks about keynote speaker, Dr. Marilyn Heine and three other presenters. The summit on March 28th features discussions of AI in healthcare, training the immune system, and genomic insights involved in colon cancer treatment.








MSSU Executive Vice President Dr. Brad Hodson joins the conversation with a construction update on the new Roy Blunt Health Science Innovation Center.

Newsmakers is airing nightly at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. the week of March 9 on KGCS-TV and will air at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15 on KOAM-TV. It is also posted on the station’s YouTube channel: KGCS – Missouri Southern State University.

KGCS-TV programming can be seen on channel 21 and is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
