The Office of Administration, in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Revenue, has awarded the management contract for the Joplin License Office to Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks in Springfield. All license office contracts in Missouri are awarded through a competitive bid process.
The Joplin License Office will remain at its current location at 1110 E. 7th St., Suite 6.
In fiscal year 2013, more than 148,000 transactions were conducted at the Joplin office, generating approximately $492,696 in agent processing fees. Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks' contract includes an annual commitment to return 5 percent (approximately $24,634) of future processing fees to the state.
All local license offices are overseen by the Missouri Department of Revenue, but each is operated by an independent agent.
