I am pleased to announce the promotion of Trevor Duncan to the rank of Captain at the Joplin Police Department. The promotion will take effect on June 15, 2017 and he will oversee the Professional Standards Bureau. His duties will include, Department PIO, Records, CALEA Manager, Training, and Crime Analysis.
Captain Duncan was hired by JPD in 2006 and has held positions as Patrol Officer, Detective, Patrol Corporal, Patrol Sergeant, Internal Affairs Sergeant and most recently as Detective Sergeant. Captain Duncan is a graduate of Carthage High School and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Central Methodist University and most recently graduated from the Missouri Police Chief’s Command College.
