Area law enforcement team for major marijuana seizure east of Jasper

(From the Jasper Police Department)

Law enforcement officers from Jasper PD, Barton County Sheriff's Office, Lamar Police Department and Jasper County Sheriff's Office, as well as member's of the Missouri National Guard teamed up today for one of the largest marijuana grow seizures in the area. After getting information of a possible marijuana grow and strange activity in the area at night, about 2 miles east of Jasper on Thorn Rd, officials decided to head to the area where the Missouri Air National Guard did their work from the sky and located a large marijuana grow operation

In total, around 290 plants were seized.

The average plant is said to yield about 100-250 grams of marijuana. So on the low side, about 28800 grams of marijuana, or 63 pounds of weed. About $100,000 street value once harvested and prepared for the street.

What a great team effort today.... It was hot and humid and not easy getting these plants. We ALL got in the thick of things and got it done.

Special thanks to Barton County Deputy Justin Ehrsam for the invite to come help with the marijuana eradication today.
