MSSU Distinguished Alumnus Matt Hall to deliver visiting artist lecture

The Art Department and the Office of Alumni and Constituent Relations at Missouri Southern State University will present a visiting artist’s lecture at 1 p.m. Friday in Webster Hall’s Corley Auditorium.

Matt Hall, 2017’s Distinguished Alumni Award recipient graduated from Missouri Southern in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in art. He has had a distinguished career, including serving as art director for DreamWorks Studios and working with director Steven Spielberg on many projects. He created the Battle of Iow Jima concept art for the film “Flags of Our Fathers” as well as for the “Medal of Honor” video game series.

An internationally known artist, his works are sought by collectors from around the world. Former President George W. Bush and Prince Charles both have original works by Hall in their collections.

Hall’s presentation is free and open to the public.
