Jasper Police stops meth-using scooter operator, confiscates drugs, paraphernalia

On Monday, September 25th, 2017 at 1501 hours, A Jasper officer stopped a subject driving a blue scooter, near the intersection of Mercer and 6th St. 

Upon contact, the officer made contact with Timothy Taylor, who appeared to be under the influence of a stimulant (methamphetamine). 

After questioning, Taylor admitted he had used methamphetamine recently and admitted he had drugs in his bedroom at his residence. After a search of his bedroom, suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia and pills identified as valium was found. 

Taylor was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while revoked. Charges for possession of a controlled substance will be sent to the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Please note, Taylor is presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
