Complaint to Barton County Sheriff's Office: My ex stole my dog and I heard it barking in her home

On 09-14-2017, Chad Harris came to the Sheriff’s Office and made a complaint of his ex (Kanah Pelican) stealing his dog. The incident was reported to have occurred in Mindenmines. He advised that he found his dog missing from the backyard. He advised that he went to her home and heard the dog barking from inside the home. He knocked on the door and when they answered the dog ran out. He advised that he gathered the dog up and took it back to his home. At this time, the investigation is ongoing.

On 09-17-2017, a domestic disturbance was reported in the area of 245 SE 10th Road. The reporting parties were interviewed and it was told to us that a dispute had occurred between a stepson and a stepfather.

During the investigation, it was told that a pushing shoving match took place between two parties, and a third party, a female subject, had been shoved down. 

At the conclusion of the investigation, a male subject was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold for investigation for the criminal charge of assault. Floyd W. Seaton, age 61, of Lamar was transported to the Barton County Jail and processed in. Reports will be sent to the prosecutor for consideration of filing of formal criminal charges.

On 09-12-2017, a dog bite was reported to the Barton County Sheriff’s Office. It was reported to have happened in Golden City in the area of Casey’s. 

 The reporting party had gone to Barton County Memorial Hospital and received medical treatment for the injury. The Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation in the incident and at the conclusion to the investigation the owner of the dog, Georgette Brubaker, age 20, of Golden City was issued two City municipal summons for the criminal charge of dangerous or vicious animal and for permitting a dog to run at large.

On 09-12-2017, a deputy with the Sheriff’s Office took a complaint of a ladder being stolen from the front porch of his home. At this time, the investigation is ongoing.
