MSSU weekly activities update

The Muslim Student Union at Missouri Southern State University will present Hijab Day from 11 a.m. t0 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in Billingsly Student Center’s Lions Den.
Members of the organization will teach student how to wear the hijab. Scarves will be available to try one on, as well as a selfie booth for pictures.
Information on common misconceptions about wearing the hijab will be offered, as well as on what it means to the Muslim population in the area.
Other activities planned on campus for the week of Oct. 16 include a workshop on financial statements and screenings of “Wonder Woman.”

Tuesday, Oct. 17

Wednesday, Oct. 18
Business Financials – The Basics: 2 p.m., Plaster School of Business. Presented by the Small Business and Technology Development Center, the training is designed for business owners, managers and others who want to learn how to turn financial statements into useful management tools. Cost is $49. Details: 417-625-3128.
Thursday, Oct. 19
Hijab Day: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Lions Den in Billingsly Student Center.
“Wonder Woman”: 2:30, 5:30 and 8:30 p.m., Phelps Theater in Billingsly Student Center. Free and open to the campus community.
Friday, Oct. 20
“Wonder Woman”: 5:30 p.m., Phelps Theater.
