Two injured, one airlifted to Freeman after collision with semi on 43

Two Arma, Kansas residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident 12:20 p.m. today on MO 43, six miles south of Liberal.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox driven by George M. Lockwood, 80, Arma, failed to yield after stopping at a stop sign and pulled into the path of a 2010 Freightliner Diesel driven by Brian C. Glasgow, 39, Yates Center, Kansas.

The Lockwood vehicle skidded off the west side of the road and struck a road sign. The Glasgow vehicle skidded off the west side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.

Lockwood was airlifted to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, to be treated for moderate injuries. A passenger in his vehicle, Norma J. Lockwood, 72, Arma, was treated for minor injuries at Freeman West.
