Nighttime lane closings expected on Seventh Street between Range Line, 249 beginning next week

Drivers can expect nighttime lane closings when a project to resurface and add guardrail to Seventh Street in Joplin begins the week of Sept. 24, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Seventh Street, which carries Missouri Route 66 in this area, will receive a new driving surface and new guardrail along a nearly three-mile stretch of the roadway between Range Line Road and Missouri Route 249.



Crews will work between 6 p.m.-6 a.m. Monday through Friday starting Monday, Sept. 24. No work is expected during weekends.

All lanes of traffic will be open during daytime hours.

Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the work zone.

Weather and/or scheduling delays will alter the work schedule.

Project Background
Prime Contractor: APAC-Central Inc., Fayetteville, Ark.
Completion Date: November 1, 2018 (However, the contractor expects to be finished in early October)
Construction Cost: $739,000
