Utility work to cause closures on Joplin's Main Street

(From the City of Joplin)

Construction to install water lines for Missouri American Water in the 100 block of Main Street will cause detours and possible traffic delays in this area. Work begins at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10 and should be completed by 8 p.m. Thursday, July 11.

Workers will install water lines across Main Street during this project. Drivers should use caution in this area, watching for detours and lane shifts.

Starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, fiber installation along 7th Street will cause lane closures at the intersection of 7th Street and Main Street. Please observe traffic signage regarding lane shifts. This will cause lane closures, so drivers need to be alert and watch for notifications.

Drivers along West 7th Street also should use caution as work will proceed to the west towards Maiden Lane during this installation. ADB is the contractor working for Bluebird Network.

Businesses in these areas will remain open and accessible during normal operation hours during these projects. Drivers may want to choose alternative routes due to possible delays.
