The Pollinator Club at Missouri Southern State University, along with the Joplin Area Beekeepers Association, will host a one-day conference for area beekeepers / pollinator enthusiasts on Saturday, November 2, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., inside the ballroom of Billingsly Student Center.
“Four States Bee Conference 2019” will consists of five speakers, including Dr. Randy Oliver of ScientificBeekeeping.com, who will present on topics like bee management techniques, pesticides - and resources / programs for pollinator habitat restoration to name a few.
The event is open to the public. The cost per person is $20 and includes lunch.
Those wishing to attend need to register no later than Wednesday, October 23. Registration forms can be found at www.joplinareabeekeepers.com.
Folks can also confirm their registration by emailing MSSU assistant professor of biology and environmental health, Dr. Mary K. (Katie) Kilmer, at kilmer-m@mssu.edu, and pay at the door. Should they choose to register after the 23rd, they are welcome to attend, but may not be guaranteed a lunch.
