Joplin tax vote subject of Newsmakers program

(From Southern News Service)

The next edition of “Newsmakers” on KGCS-TV will examine “Proposition B,” the sales tax proposal on the November 5 ballot, that asks Joplin voters if they’d provide funding for the city police and fire pension programs.

Chief Matt Stewart with JPD, Chief Jim Furgerson with JFD and Terry Wachter from the Citizens Task Force will join host and KGCS general manager, Judy Stiles, to talk about the issue.

The show will air nightly at 5:30 p.m., beginning on Sunday, October 27 on KGCS-TV. It will also air on Saturday, November 2 at 5:30 a.m. on KOAM-TV – and is currently posted on KGCS’s YouTube channel, “KGCS Missouri Southern.”

KGCS programming can be seen on channel 21. It is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
