Carthage woman injured in accident caused by deer on I-44

A Carthage woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident 2:50 a.m. today on I-44, 1.5 miles east of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, Gabrielle D. Clark, 24, Carthage, driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse swerved to avoid a deer, lost control and skidded into the cable barrier.

Clark was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
