Joplin man killed, second Joplin man flown to Mercy Springfield after driving tractor off bridge

One man was killed and another flown to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, to be treated for serious injuries following an accident 2:30 a.m. today on Lawrence County Road 2130, two miles south of Stotts City.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2011 John Deere 7230, driver unknown, ran off the left side of the roadway and traveled off a bridge.

Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin pronounced Justin T. Workman, 35, Joplin, dead at the scene at 4 a.m.

Kendal L. Crosswhite, 28, Joplin, was flown to Mercy with serious injuries.

The fatality was the 88th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
